SCHOOL HOLIDAYS: ONCF PROVIDED TRANSPORT FOR OVER 1.2 MILLION TRAVELERS

Upon the 2020 winter school holidays, the National Office of Railways (ONCF) adopted a "Holiday Special" transport plan from Friday 17th until Monday 27th of January 2020. The plan aims to guarantee customers travel with the greatest comfort and under the best conditions of safety. To do so, ONCF has taken multiple steps, for instance: enhancing train-service offerings; reinforcing and mobilising reception, assistance and information teams, both in stations and on trains; diversifying sales channels; etc.

Thanks to this exclusive plan, combined with reduced journey times and the new travel concept (guaranteed seats, attractive prices for the different segments, discounts on tickets purchased in advance, comfort on board, improved punctuality and quality of service …), the following performance indicators were recorded during this period :

  • About 2,500 trains have travelled across the different axes of the network
  • More than 1.2 million travellers were provided transport, with an average of 112,000 travellers per day. Approximately 50% of those customers benefited from advantageous rates thanks to purchasing mainline tickets in advance
  • A punctuality rate maintained at 91% despite the high influx during this period

Thus, ONCF would like to thank its customers for choosing the train for their trips during these holidays. The Office is actively working on providing new offers to better serve them, whilst remaining at their disposal.
