Conceived as a true driver of transformation, the Kenitra–Marrakech High-Speed Rail (LGV) will extend the first Tangier–Kenitra line by an additional 430 kilometers, thereby unifying the Kingdom’s major North–South corridors. This emblematic infrastructure will provide fast, smooth, and sustainable mobility with highly competitive travel times:
- 1 hour between Tangier and Rabat
- 1 hour 40 minutes between Tangier and Casablanca
- 2 hours 40 minutes between Tangier and Marrakech
- 35 minutes between Rabat and Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca
- 3 hours 40 minutes between Fez and Marrakech
- A connection to strategic hubs such as airports and stadiums
In addition, the project also includes the development of a Close Intra-Metropolitan Service with a high frequency of trains for the Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech regions, in order to support urban mobility.
These infrastructure works, which will be carried out in several phases—beginning with the first on Monday, September 15, 2025—will involve a comprehensive adjustment of passenger train schedules while maintaining the usual train service. They will also require the temporary closure of Mers Sultan station.
